American actor and rapper Earl Simmons was born December 18 1970 and passed away April 9, 2021. He started rapping in the early 1990s . He released his debut album , It's Dark and Hell Is Hot in 1998 to both critical acclaim as well as commercial success, selling 251,000 copies within its first week of its release. In 1999, DMX released... and then there was X. It featured the hit song "Party up (Up in Here). His singles from 2003, "Where is the Hood At?" His 2003 singles, "Where the Hood at?" and "X Gon' Make It To Ya", were also commercially successful. The singer was the first artist to reach No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart five consecutive times. Seven times DMX sold more than 74 million albums worldwide. 8. DMX was in movies such as Belly, Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds, Cradle 2 the Grave, and Last Hour. In 2006, he played in the reality television series DMX: Soul of a Man that was aired by the BET cable television network Never Die Alone. In 2003, he released the memoirs of his life entitled E.A.R.L. : The Autobiography of DMX. 9 DMX began his career in the music business at age 14 when he was a beatboxer with Ready Ron. After serving time in prison for stealing a dog the rapper started writing his own songs and performed at the local rec center, which was for younger children. While in prison for carjacking he spent the majority of his time writing lyrics. He also started rapping with K.Solo. 3. When he was released in the summer of 1988 the rapper began creating and selling mixtapes of his own where he rapped over music from other songs. He also sold them on street corners that helped him establish an army of fans across New York. DMX appeared on The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show in 1991 along with Percee P, where they both freestyled. [15The 15-year-old DMX would release a demo tape featuring "Spellbound" as well as "Critical Condition", Three Little Pigs", The Original Author of Spellbound, and "Unstoppable Force" in the following year. The style was similar to Big Daddy Kane's style and Rakim's but distinct from his later material. 3] In 1991, The Source magazine praised DMX for his Unsigned Hype column that featured rappers who were unsigned. (16) Columbia Records signed DMX in 1991 to its subsidiary label Ruffhouse Records. This single was the first of his songs, "Born Loser". In 1994, he released "Make A Move", his second single. Jay-Z, Ja Rule and Mic Geronimo collaborated on an appearance on "Time to build" the legendary underground track. DMX died in 2021 due to a heart attack induced by cocaine.
